It finally happened
After many failed attempts, I finally got the Yosemite winter I had been chasing
One of the items high on my photography bucket list was capturing Yosemite Valley under a thick layer of snow. I tried, I’d been to Yosemite a few times, especially since moving to San Francisco a year ago. Every time under a winter storm warning, but the snow remained elusive, I’d get only a few flurries at best. So when I heard about yet another storm rolling in, I couldn’t help but be skeptical.
That morning, while having breakfast, I checked the weather as I usually do. The forecast had changed: the storm was expected to bring even more snow than originally predicted. It was approaching fast, I didn’t have much time to think about it. My time in San Francisco is coming to an end—more on that soon—so I decided this was not the time to hesitate. Soon enough, I found myself packing my gear and heading to Yosemite once again.
This time, it finally happened: I got the snow I had been waiting for—and then some. Two days of absolute magic, photographing Yosemite in the winter wonderland I had imagined for so long. These are some of the images I made there, and if you want to see the full adventure, don’t forget to check out the video.
A reminder that persistence pays off. Photography takes skill, but more than anything, it takes being there when the magic happens.
That place is gorgeous. And with fog and snow...amazing
Very atmospheric set of images - you've done well with the post processing on these
